World Congress for Middle Eastern Studies

Barcelona, July 19th - 24th 2010

Film Festival

The WOCMES Barcelona 2010 Film Festivalshowcases a range of 10 feature films and 10 documentaries recently released from across the Middle East and North Africa.

The festival’s main aim is to bring attention to the cinema of the region by both showcasing the work of well-known filmmakers, as well as being a platform for the new works of young talents.

All the films have been selected by a committee of experts and they deal with subject matters that are to be discussed in the congress’ panels and scientific sessions.

Thanks to the generous collaboration of distributors, filmmakers and producers, the festival has gathered a wide spectrum of audiovisual works and different subjects that compose the final program.

The festival takes place during 6 days at the Edifici d’Estudiants (ETC Building), Plaça Cívica of the UAB Campus.

The WOCMES BARCELONA 2010 FILM FESTIVAL is organised by the Association of Independent Producers of the Mediterranean (APIMED) in partnership with the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed).

A final program of those films selected for inclusion in the WOCMES 2010 Film Festival can be viewed below.
